- Manufacture reagents and chemicals used in analytical laboratories, industry and research. Our Megazyme range is noted for the exceptional purity of its enzymes and is a global supplier of a number of carbohydrate and enzyme-substrate products.
- Supply customers worldwide. We offer technical advice to customers through our ‘Ask a Scientist’ feature and our analytical team are on-hand to work in the laboratories on their unique analytical challenges.

Many of the analytical methods developed by our Megazyme range have been validated as official standard methods, recommended by the relevant regulatory bodies and scientific associations following rigorous inter-laboratory evaluations. About our company
Megazyme became part of Neogen® in January 2021. Neogen® Corporation develops and markets products dedicated to food and animal safety. The company’s Food Safety Division markets dehydrated culture media and diagnostic test kits to detect foodborne bacteria, natural toxins, genetic modifications, food allergens, drug residues, plant diseases and sanitation concerns. Neogen®’s Animal Safety Division markets a complete line of diagnostics, veterinary instruments, veterinary pharmaceuticals, nutritional supplements, disinfectants and rodenticides.
Neogen®'s Megazyme range has been headquartered in Bray, Ireland since 1996. Its research laboratories and manufacturing facilities are co-located on a single campus, which has grown as the company has expanded and diversified.

Company History
Megazyme was founded in 1988 in Sydney, Australia and has been based in Bray, Ireland since 1996. Since the beginning, Megazyme has focussed on the development of test kits and reagents for use in analytical and research laboratories.
In 2005, Megazyme extended its Bray research centre to accommodate the new Molecular Biology division. The research laboratories were extended further in 2013 to increase Megazyme’s fermentation capabilities and house a new synthetic Organic Chemistry laboratory, with further manufacturing capacity added in 2017.
As a company, Megazyme is recognised as one of the World’s most dynamic and innovative life sciences businesses winning a number of prestigious awards.
In 2021, Megazyme was acquired by Neogen®.
About Neogen®
Neogen® was born in 1982 in Lansing, Michigan. Scientific innovations blossoming out of Michigan State University needed an avenue to reach the people who could use them to better the world - solutions searching for problems. The university reached out to the men who would become Neogen®’s founders, Ted Doan and James Herbert, and soon after, the company was born.
What started as a small team that held organization-wide meetings in a single hallway in Lansing, Michigan expanded into new industries and new states, soon reaching across one ocean, then another. Along the way, their goal solidified: to partner with their customers, farm to fork, to elevate the world’s level of food and animal safety.
