Enzyme Activity: Kinase
EC Number:
Synonyms: (d)CMP kinase; ATP:CMP phosphotransferase; UMP-CMP kinase
Source: Prokaryote
Molecular Weight: 26,910
Concentration: Supplied at ~ 125 U/mL
Expression: Recombinant from a Prokaryotic source
Specificity: Catalyses the reaction:
ATP + (d)CMP = ADP + (d)CDP
The prokaryotic cytidine monophosphate kinase specifically phosphorylates CMP (or dCMP), using ATP as the preferred phosphoryl donor.
Specific Activity: ~ 15 U/mg (25oC, pH 7.6 on CMP)
Unit Definition: One Unit of cytidylate kinase is defined as the amount of enzyme required to produce one µmole of CDP from CMP and ATP per minute, in the presence of NADH, in TEA buffer (73 mM), pH 7.6 at 25oC.
Temperature Optima: 25oC
pH Optima: 7.6
Application examples: Applications in the measurement of CMP.
