Megazyme International Ireland Ltd. is a privately owned biotechnology company specialising in the development, manufacture and supply of diagnostic test kits and reagents for the food, feed, dairy and wine industries.  Megazyme markets a range of over 300 products, both direct to customers and via a network of International Distributors, in 55 countries.  Export sales account for 98% of turnover.

Megazyme is the sole world supplier of more than 80% of the products listed in it's catalogue, including high purity soluble dietary fibre from oats and barley (ß-glucan) and from wheat (arabinoxylan). These products were developed and are produced, by Megazyme, in its Irish manufacturing plant in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland. Other products include a range of test tablet procedures to measure amylase, cellulase, ß-glucanase, mannanase, xylanase, protease and many others. These assays are finding widespread acceptance and are currently being adopted by the enzyme manufacturing companies as part of their quality control. In addition, the company supplies a wide range of novel, highly purified enzymes, polysaccharides and oligosaccharides.

The Megazyme Test Kits have attracted worldwide acclaim for their genuinely innovative nature and the exceptional purity of the enzymes employed. Our economic progress is based on research and innovation and we will continue our commitment to invest over 15% of turnover in in-house R&D. Since early 2004, Megazyme has invested in the expansion of its new Molecular Biology R&D facilities (16,000 sq. ft.) to rapidly respond to increasing demand for stable, high purity enzymes with exacting substrate specificities. This Division has already yielded a pipeline of recombinant products including enzymes for research and a range of test kits specifically for the dairy and wine industries.
